Among the hints I note that you mention having seen this other occur (when answering the question about filthy lucre);

17) Does this other result in the rearrangement of objects?
17) Does this other result in the rearrangement of objects?
No.

I was going to guess something to do with morality, but that appears in that gigantic list of Oddball.

18) Does it (or something very close to it) appear anywhere on the page: http://thesaurus.com/browse/courtesy?
18) Does it (or something very close to it) appear anywhere on the page: http://thesaurus.com/browse/courtesy?
Anywhere on the page? Then yes ... kind of "something very close to it". Certainly a lot closer than you all have been getting so far.

Hmmm... at the top is a translator button... But I'm not sure that is what you are talking about because language happens with animals...

There is a marriage link, but you already said it doesn't usually happen between two people.

My impression of your answer is that it isn't directly tied to courtesy. (Otherwise your emphasis of "anywhere" was a bit misleading.)

The word "dictionary" appears on the page, so I'm thinking maybe your word has something to do with that...defining stuff... so here goes...

19) Does it have to do with finding meaning (in words, or life)?

Time gentlemen please. Last question.

With the right inspiration and the right resources (hint hint) I think that this one can still be solved. I have confidence in your collective abilities to work this out.
1) Is it related to math? No.
2) Is it man-made? Yes. Of course, "math" would have been considered man-made also, just needed to make that clear.
3) Is it a physical thing, or if it is an abstract concept does it have a physical manifestation? Not really. To be pedantic everything would have a physical manifestation as a thought (electrical currents) in the mind, or a concept written on paper (or posted into a forum) perhaps. But basically the answer here has to be "no".
4) Is this generally classified as emotion? Nope.
5) Would it be discussed or explained or investigated during the science education of a typical school age [16 or under] American child? I seriously doubt it. I can't say for sure since I've never experienced such an education, but "no", not during science education.
6)is it involved in a science,or a science topic? Occasionally, but answering 'yes' because of a few rare instances would seriously mislead you, so "no", not generally.
7) Is it related to art or crafts? No.
8) Could it be descriptive of a type of social interaction; e.g. courtesy? Yes.
9) Are teams involved? No. Although there is no particular reason that teams couldn't be involved, just that it would not be a defining characteristic.
10) Is it exclusively a human issue? (In other words, no animals could possibly be involved?) Yes.
11) Does it involve money? Could do I suppose, but not that I have ever seen. So, no.
12. Does this social interaction usually only involve two people? No.
13) Does it involve food? No.
14) Does one have to have some special qualifications to be involved, such as social status, education, or membership? No.
15) Does it usually or always involve the use of a device or devices that make use of a microchip or microchips? No.
16.) Is it one of the items on this list
http://collage.cityoflondon.gov.uk/c...ies&sp=17&sp=X
Nope.
17) Does this other result in the rearrangement of objects? No.
18) Does it (or something very close to it) appear anywhere on the page: http://thesaurus.com/browse/courtesy?Anywhere on the page? Then yes ... kind of "something very close to it". Certainly a lot closer than you all have been getting so far.
19) Does it have to do with finding meaning (in words, or life)? No.
I have so many possible questions yet none that are good enough.

Resource pooling? Cooperation? Nope. Animals do it all the time. What else?

science_man_88 2010-11-09 16:43

looks like a man made sociology topic that is a rarely talked of human issue that doesn't involve the computer age, social status, or few people,or food ( eliminates social networking, and family reunions for me, or black tie affairs). I know I probably messed up the spelling of stuff. possibly teams involved but not necessary. It could involve money, but seems unlikely to. Also it's not something that involves level of education, or needs a membership. It can be considered close to something on http://collage.cityoflondon.gov.uk/c...ies&sp=17&sp=X more than anything else so far, and it's not finding the meaning of life, or words.

got me stumped lol.
