Edit: What's the estimated time for post-processing this c170? 4-5 days?
On a quad-core, about 1 week.
I'm ignorant on the matter, here a few questions.

Why for this c170 we need to get 97M unique relations?

I ran a few post-processing jobs for XYYXF:

and for OddPerfect project:

So what's the rule? Different poly, different weight, type of integer?
Were the jobs for XYYXF and OddPerfect SNFS? This is a GNFS job, so for numbers of any particular size you need more relations (sometimes a lot more) than you do for an SNFS job.

Yes, all the jobs he mentioned in post #87 were SNFS jobs. Even the C182 by GNFS would be way too hard for the poor little 14e siever.

IIRC, ~GNFS-182 would be the crossover between 15e and 16e, right?

We need more power...we are not in schedule for post-processing...

jrk 2010-10-24 22:00

What's the rush?

em99010pepe 2010-10-24 22:03

In December I won't have any chance of running the post-processing.

bchaffin 2010-10-25 06:44

Almost done with 62-64, I'll take 65M-68M next.
In December I won't have any chance of running the post-processing.
I think we should be well on track to manage a November finish.

Opinions?

Carlos, make sure to use the latest SVN before attempting the matrix; the cache detection code was just fixed to work better on modern processors, and you get a huge slowdown in the LA if the cache size is misreported.

Thank you. I'll have to contact Jeff to build the new binaries.
