With two mersenne primes >24M and <26M, this particular
"countdown" (DC to 24M) strikes me as the most boring one to grace this silly thread yet:smile: And when will folk twig that the rate at which these countdowns decrease slows down spectacularly as they get smaller. Roughly "exponential decay" aka watching paint dry! David |
Less than 50 LL under 40M - 49 to be exact.
Less than 200 LL under 42M - 194 to be exact. |
Continuing to await this minor milestone:

At .5 LL per day, estimsted reach-date is Oct 17 2011. But I expect some other date for the resolution. |
10 of the 18 22M exponents are manual assignments to "robdinwor" dated 2010-1-30. There seems to be no updates since then. I wonder if we can find out if they have been abandoned or if he/she is working on them.

The assignments are over a year old, and there have been no updates in that same time frame. According to the GIMPS assignment rules, such exponents should have been released a long time ago. I'd say make reasonable efforts (perhaps in concert with George) to reach this user, and if there is no response within a week or two, let these exponents be up for grabs. |

No visible progress but the reservations have been extended... Next update is expected tomorrow.

Jacob
This will get me in trouble with the Head of Fermented Curd, but my guess is still that the assignments could be revoked by George, since they have been out longer than a year (and are preferred exponents). He has that option, or at least the option of e-mailing the user to gauge their intentions/status within the project. |

Only until successfully DCed methinks. David |

David
True. I suppose you can n-tuple check an exponent but get no credit if the exponent has already been successfully double-checked. |
