Hi Batalov!
Great utility, i never heard of ... Just downloaded it. Thanks a lot. Regards, scalabis |
Sysinternals was renowned for very cool system-level windows stuff. I'm also fond of TaskInfo2000 (the 2002-era version, which was freeware); it gives enormous amounts of information on a running system, including things like open files by process.

But Processexplorer is freeware ... I mean, you can dowload it and use it without paying and without typical shareware messages ... The only thing i noticed is that the help .chm file is not working ... At least on a 64 bit Windows XP. Regards, scalabis |
So I am finally starting the sqrt phase of the factorization.
Just curious how long I can expect this phase to take. 154 Digit number. It took about 79 hours to do the algebra phase. -- |
You will get the factorization before the first answer...
|
ok. I didn't know what to expect. Thanks.

Well it looks like something else is happening.
I am seeing this:
bash% ./msieve -nc3 -v ... commencing square root phase reading relations for dependency 1 read 2090616 cycles cycles contain 5829738 unique relations read 5829738 relations multiplying 5829738 relations Segmentation fault
Something I did wrong? Anything I can do? |

The workaround which I use is to run a WinXP system in a virtual machine and complete the factorization there. The bug seems not to be activated in a Windoze environment. Paul |
So what files do I bring over to windows to complete the square root?
I can probably figure it out by time stamps..... |
For the benefit of other poor debuggers, let's cross-reference the sqrt-crash thread here. (you guys, of course, found it)
I never had a sqrt crash on me (out of hundreds, let's put a denominator), but it may support Tom's remark about compiler dependency: my gcc is 4.3.2. |
