According to [URL=https://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=12983]this thread[/URL], S726 hasn’t been started yet. Not to also mention that starting a new base can be difficult, especially for a newcomer to the project. May I suggest, if you are interested in bases >500, to consider S542 or R653, which should be “easier”. |

OK I'll reserve only S726 for you although that is still a lot of work. Here is what I suggest: Estimate how much time it will take you to complete the entire base by extrapolating: Divide the conjecture by 40000 (your current completion). Now multiply that by the amount of time it took you to complete to k=40000. Add about 10-15% because larger k's take a little longer to test. That should give you a good estimate of how long the base will take. With a conjecture of k=10923176.for S726 it will take you almost 300 times as long to test the whole base to n=2500 as it did to test k<=40000 to n=2500. So if it took you a day to test to k=40000 it will take around 10 months to test the whole base running your machine the entire time. If you divide it among 4 cores running full time that is still 2.5 months. Are you willing to commit to that? |
So 40000 is 10 hours, and totally I run it on 2 cores which cuts it down to 1.5months but since it's not running full time about 3months.
