Can one be both frivolous and serious?
Simultaneously?
Having a "bad Herr" day, are we?
Actually, since the aforementioned Herr G lists his location as Hungary, he would likely have a similar complaint, but involving the Habsburgs of Austro-Hungarian empire fame (or notoriety, depending which side one was on). Perhaps the common theme is "egomaniacs whose last names begin with an H".
Love you Ernst! Not given lightly D |

GTX 680 + GTX 680 = GTX 690

GTX 690 - GTX 680 = 42
Look what I found!
Looks like GK110 will be a WIN!
Oh... ...i'm even more happy with the C2075 tesla's i got here now... Thanks to nvidia for sponsoring 'em! |
GTX 690 - GTX 680 = 42
Yeah spot 42 it'll be. That's maybe why they need in the 680/690 now 24 cycles cost for throughput of a single multiplication instruction (that we can use), factor 12 slowdown i calculated a tad more accurate when it was before 3 AM here which it is now. But i'll redo that math at 3 PM maybe coming Saturday when i can toy maybe with CUDA once again. Man am i glad with the stuff i got here... ...hiep hiep hooray for Nvidia for making this superior Tesla stuff! (and donating it) |
Yup, it officially is a gaming gfx card and it sucks @ compute.
Rumor has it GK106 will be an even lower class gpu, less shaders and all. Our only hope is GK110.
It's a total superior gamerscard - no secrets there. Hiep hiep hooray to Nvidia for making such total superior gamerscards that will do well for all gamers! And the kids parents of course - 1000+ euro for the GTX690 |
I don't like this throughput numbers...
comparing cc 2.0 vs. 3.0 32bit integer add: from 1.00 down to 0.875 32bit integer shift / compare: from 0.50 down to 0.042 (12 times less!) logical operations: from 1.00 down to 0.708 32bit integer add/madd: from 0.50 down to 0.167 (3 times less!) If these numbers are real than mfaktc won't like GK104! GF110 will have better performance, performance per watt and performance per money spent. Oliver
Let's cheer for this succesful gamerscard design and not look like sad meanwhile we already can enjoy the previous generation superiority over the competition. It will only get better for the upcoming tesla of course! I drink to that meanwhile you can get drunk :) |

http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/article-keynote/ Edit: I have to admit it is very easy on the eyes  (too bad the compute is such crap). It's not a CRAP, they PARC that performance in order to strike back with an even stronger Tesla, maybe! |
