Supercomputer Blizzard wíth 158 TFLOPS online

With Blizzard one of the most modern supercomputers for climate related calculations had been brought online in Hamburg, Germany. The IBM HPC Cloud of the German Climate Computing Centre delivers for example climate models for the Climate Conference 2009.

Germany owns probably in 2012 the most powerful supercomputer with up to 3 Petaflops.

..and in 2020 we bring a man to the moon!

Some other interesting information there is the Hot-Water Cooling System. Sounds like an oxymoron but apparently works well.
Some other interesting information there is the Hot-Water Cooling System. Sounds like an oxymoron but apparently works well.
Neat-o! It operates at a temperature range that works for both the computer cooling and the building heating!

IOW, whatever temperature the computer cooling used, the water would have to lose heat from some radiator. Allowing it to range up to 60 C enables efficient radiation into the building heat system. The 4000-to-1 transfer advantage over air among the circuitry means it doesn't have to be all that much cooler than the circuitry in order to do the job there.

Hey, that thermos-dynamo stuff really works!

I'd explain that to some of the commenters, except that I won't bother getting a gizmag account and don't use Facebook.
