Good catch! I'll put it on my todo list for mmff / mfaktc. Unfortunately, I'm up to my eyeballs in more optimizations for prime95 FFTs (no, don't get excited). It should be possible to convert every mod_p call.
How much of a speedup (for mfaktc) are we looking at?

Just a guess: less than 2%, probably less than 1%

1%

When you're cranking out nearly 400 ghzdays/day with the gpu, a 1% increase is still more than any one of the cores on my cpu is doing. :)

Hi,
Hi,

I guess that you have a good reason not upgrading your video driver
Yes, on this computer, system is maintained, updated and monitored by IT. I can't upgrade myself video drivers
Do you need a Windows or Linux executable?
A windows version please.
On Windows it is not funny to switch CUDA toolkit version (at least for me...).
No problem. I will stick with my current version. And I will try to find a way to upgrade my nvidia drivers

Thanks.

Dumb question: if I have GPU sieving enabled, do I need to run multiple instances for dual-GPU cards (such as the GTX #90), or is that only necessary for multiple cards?

Yes, but you would anyway.

This new GPU-sieving mfaktc release got me thinking. Provided with enough power and adequate cooling, one could stick four GTX 580 (or even four GTX 590, if drivers support that), and get an insane combined through output from a single box.

Wowzers!! That setup would require significant cooling.

And I think the issue on the forum is performance per dollar.

...if you have enough money to spare

EDIT:@Dubslow my case sucks, so I keep it open :max:

As do I, but mostly for "it's fun to look at" reasons than cooling reasons  (though of course the latter is a welcome benefit).
