Temp measuring question.
I'm getting slightly annoyed at how hot some of my boxen have gotten lately. I've got a compunurse type thermistor that I patched together from some old parts I found in the physics lab (MINE is accurate to 4 decimal places :( ) but I'm looking for either something more perminant mounted in a drive bay, or ideally, a monitor that can display the data on my computer screen. You guys have any ideas?

I think somebody makes a sensor that has an LCD display on the front of your case. You should be able to get one that monitors case temps and CPU temps.

Do you mean something like this?

Yeah thanks. A couple years ago I saw a couple of those at a LAN party, but I never knew what they were called.
Anyway, if any of yous knows of a thermistor that runs on software (possibly plugs into usb?) like MBM (but for my old MoBos that don't have sensors) let me know. Otherwise, My hardware questions are over for the moment. |
Digital Doc 5 should work on anything - though it's a hardware solution.
CoolCPU seems to support some motherboards - especially older ones - that MBM doesn't (and MBM supports a few that CoolCPU doesn't). |
I use the ASUS IPanel - works very well with ASUS motherboards. Another solution is the PC Geiger, which seems to be a fairly good solutions.
