Yep. A bit of netting might not go amiss.

More seriously, I wouldn't be that keen to chase a ball wide near
the baseline (like the majority of them).

Complete non-starter this one!
I’m thinking that assembly should be on here.
... (which is what I thought, too, after reading "where computer languages started" in the intro, followed by "Year 1957 Language FORTRAN" as the first item.

This desk is cool:

It's a little out of my price range.

If you want to do a decent job of discussing what language to use and why, start with the design decisions made in the language.

Structured programming describes everything of interest after FORTRAN and COBOL (note that modern updates to these languages and even some assemblers implement it). BASIC is really an early way of avoiding keypunch and using a text editor. C is the survivor of that movement. Perl takes the idea of convenience with variables and common datastructures to extremes. C++ and JAVA (and Smalltalk and...) all work at the object/class level, with varying degrees of success in creating inheritance mechanisms for large programs.

Labview and things try to link objects by dataflow....which partially works....

Separation occurs about 2 mins after launch. Amazing to see the shuttle accelerate away.
