There are a lot of interesting things on this [URL="http://www.world-mysteries.com"]site[/URL]. I suspect that many are hoaxes of one sort or another. The one that brought me to the site was a discussion on something called the [URL="http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_13.htm"]Voynich Manuscript[/URL]. It seems to me to have the potential of being a hoax as it remains untranslated, but whomever wrote it went through a lot of effort to do so.

a) Frequent featuring of coincidences, with the implication that there must be some nonrandom "mystery" explanation, but no mention of how many other things in the same categories are noncoincidental
b) Frequent numerical sloppiness, and frequent word sloppiness or confusion
c) Pseudoscience
d) Outdated science -- theories that were mainstream decades ago, but since superseded by better explanations or more accurate data
e) Just plain false statements
