Just a few weeks ago I had a long discussion with our HR manager about how to deal with troublesome employees and contractors. I was advocating just sitting quiet and observing. She was advocating more active approach: tests and group exercises. I'll have to point her to this post of yours to let her see the strenght of my approach.

Sometimes I'm thinking that I'm just wasting my time here. But the day like today pays this all back. Very short example showing how nominally inteligent people who work witch machines are completely dysfunctional when working with people.

Couple of years ago I was in the pre-WWII Sears building in L.A. and noticed an old sign prohibiting the entry of the machine-floor people to the offices tower. I was surprised (and kind of appaled) then. Now I see the wisdom of it.

Thanks for letting me gain that insight here.
