Hint: refrigerators which have T_internal ~= 0.3 T_external are in widespread use and are relatively inexpensive, largely because they are in widespread use.

There is no shortage of structural materials which are solid at significantly greater than 1000K. Ditto lubricants which are liquid at that temperature and working fluids which have boiling points between 250K and 1000K. Most, if not all, electronics other than passive components, would be on the cold side of the refrigerator.

Walking around on Venus or the sunny side of Mercury is undoubtedly possible with current technology. It is just too expensive for the time being.

Checking turned up a news item dated September 25, 2020, indicating the accused has copped a plea and walked.

He is also required to pay for any and all out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the victim and his family regarding medical treatment the youth received in connection with the incident.
