The cliff, for actresses
Seems like a waste of talent.

As featured in the cheesy-but-entertaining 2011 film Immortals. See, back in those days they took the concept of a "celebrity roast" rather literally. ;) |

I'm probably going to regret saying this, but... IMHO, the French have given Socialism a bad name. I often still encounter people who argue "Socialism is fundamentally bad. Why should I have to pay for someone else?" But asking them if they've driven anywhere recently (on public roads) without paying a toll often results in them becoming silent (while their brain explodes). Clearly, they don't understand the difference between Socialism and Communism. And, thus, have not actually thought about the problem space deeply enough to properly enter a debate. |
So unless the stored ammonium nitrate had been specially prepared ahead of time, I don't see how a fire could have caused it to explode with that magnitude.
It's the temperature. You don't need mixing it with anything. There was a similar case in Romania like 50 years ago, a Panama ocean liner filled with ammonium nitrate exploded in Danube's delta. They could not sink it, because then the river would be not navigable anymore (that was a HUUUGGGEEE ship!) but fortunately, local people throw most of the fertilizer overboard before reaching the critical temperature. They made a famous movie from it, later (edit: there are two links there). In the movie, it is more dramatic, they drove the "bomb" through the city, towards the sea, etc. The city there, is on the both sides of Danube, and if the thing would have exploded, then no city. And no movie, haha. But in reality, the accident was far away, no city involved. One of my teacher at the time (I was in school), was there at filming (which took part one year or so after the incident) and she said they were pouring Diesel and naphtha/tar continuously into the fires, to make it look more "realistic" and to make a lot of smoke to avoid seeing the ship from which wasn't much left. |

We found two more kittens from the same litter.
We have people nearby who claim they are willing to take them when they are potty trained and eating regular food. We sure hope they are serious. :max: |

Please take very good care of those sweet little beasts. And find them good homes! My home is filled with cats (and one SWMBO). Much like an ideal gas, they quickly fill all available space. (And purr while being cuddled.) |
