I'm in Calgary for a few days and was looking for a place to eat. Who know that there were so many fast food restaurants in the area?
The population of the Calgary metro area is about 1.4 million, and of Alberta Province about 4 million. I guess the folks near Calgary must be really, really busy running 1.46 billion fast food places. At least they're burning off all those calories for which fast food is notorious.

I tried a Google search on

fast food near calgary

and got a mere "about 62,500,000 results."

However, the hit parade was only about 10 pages long, so about 100 hits.

When I was a kid, nutritional recommendations were cast in terms of the "five food groups," since supplanted by pyramids and plates.

I offer the five fast food groups: Starch, sugar, grease, salt, and caffeine.

I also note that the term "fast food" is paradoxical or oxymoronic. To fast means, not to eat, so fast food is food which is not to be eaten. Perhaps it is meant to be offerings to the gods. But I am afraid that such an offering would incur eternal damnation...

Fast food is awesome. More energy to move the bicycle forward. :tu:

Edit: .....and amusing turn of phrase, too.

Hmmmm...
i7-8700K was for sale for $53.99 (and i9-9900K for $79.99) for a few hours on ebay. (long enough for google and, say, cpu.userbenchmark.com to index the link and send people to it.
After thinking "either it is a stolen batch or they don't exist at all... but what do I have to lose? Ebay will back it" you press the button, and 5 minutes later the seller's site is gone.
Hmmmm...

Maybe I'm just too stupid to get an ironic joke, but fast food refers to the speed at which it is supplied to the customer.

I can only imagine what you think of "fast" athletes, or even "fast" computers.

The chief advantage of folks like Alex Jones in the "free marketplace of ideas" has long been known:
Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.
-- The Art of Political Lying by Jonathan Swift -- the Examiner issue number 14 November 7, 1710
