...shitty science journalism. It's a clickbait piece for folks that know nothing should exceed the speed of light. The researchers appear to have found a way to do

Light that travels 30 times faster than light? Hmmmm...
Doesn't the light inside the Enterprise travel faster than light when it's traveling at warp? |
Why not? Maybe light was in hurry at that time, who are you to question it?
I am retina. And I will question any thing I please to. Light: I am questioning you!
I recently heard a chopper nearby flying low and not moving much. I didn't know what was going on. There had been no sirens, so I thought maybe a construction project, only someone who'd seen it briefly said it was a small chopper.
Another guy and I went to investigate. They say seeing is believing, but I saw this and I still couldn't believe it. I found a video online of the operation. I'd had no idea. I wonder who dreamed this up. It involves some highly skilled flying. Helicopter Tree Sawing In The MD 500.
Well, they use helicopters to string utility lines on the tall poles, too. In the mid 70's I interviewed with Weyerhauser in Seattle. I was told of logging operations where a lumberjack on the ground coordinates by radio with a heavy lift chopper in forest too steep for trucking the trees out. Chopper hooks on an intact tree, lumberjack cuts it off at the bottom, chopper flies the whole severed tree straight up and away and lays it down somewhere more accessible. I assume the lumberjack goes and stands behind another tree just in case the grip slips. Or maybe they were pulling a young college kid's leg. There are videos of chopper pilots keeping half a chopper on a roof, half a chopper airborne, surprisingly level and steady, while a platoon with lots of gear runs in or out (major load change and shift) and who knows what the wind is doing. Now that's a power tool, I'm surprised it never came up on Tool Time. That helicopter saw sure would make short work of pruning a farm's windbreaks. I wonder what the billed cost per mile of edge would be. Ground cleanup would be tedious. |
Doesn't the light inside the Enterprise travel faster than light when it's traveling at warp?
Nothing in or on Enterprise travels faster than light. The magical warp field locally warps space so it's shorter, thus the velocity needed to achieve apparent FTL travel is sublight speed.
I've seen myself what happens when matter travels faster than light speed. 400kev to 600kev scattered electrons entering cerium stabilized radiation shielding glass from the vacuum side are momentarily going faster than the local speed of light in the first bit of glass and create electromagnetic shock waves (Cerenkov radiation). Charged particles crashing into solid matter also generates xrays. |

I didn't see anything about other customers. As to cost and debris, from the Aerial solutions FAQ:
2. How much does side trimming cost?
While we do not disclose our hourly rates due to competitive reasons, our customers tell us that our operations represents a savings of one-third to one-half compared to ground-based crews. <snip> 12. What happens to the debris from falling limbs that lands in the right-of-way? The utility customer determines the procedure for handling debris. Because of the generally remote locations of the lines, the debris is often left to biodegrade in the right-of-way. Where sensitive areas such as woods roads, fences, etc. exist, the utility hires ground crews to clear the debris.
|

I was at Crypto in Santa Barbara shortly before this last happened. One guy there had taken precautions, including buying sterilizing tablets so that he could drink his swimming pool in case the municipal water supply system failed as a result of the roll-over. Absolutely sod-all happened. |

"Concerned citizen". Re. the Uni PR whoring aspect, we've all - whether we are aware of it or not - heard of subliminal advertising, now we also have superluminal advertising. That happens a lot as well in MSM articles about the latest "spooky action at a distance" quantum-entanglement experiments, I swear over 90% of them fail to mention that, no, this does not permit faster-than-light communication. |
