Apparently Ms. Foxx received a friendly phone call from an ex-aide to Michelle Obama:

In my earlier post here about the first Smollett case fiasco, I gave the tongue-in-cheek description of his offense (filing a false police report) as "violating the Ninth Commandment."

Apart from the juicy prospect of undue political influence (and I wish news organizations all the luck in the world in their efforts to unseal the court filings in the case), it occurs to me that the prosecutor may have been influenced by the apparent impunity of Il Duce & Co. in spewing "alternative facts," sometimes of a defamatory nature. The mention of an ex-aide to Michelle Obama brings to mind that Il Duce began his venture into the political arena as "Birther-in-Chief." Perhaps Ms. Foxx decided it was time to hand out a little impunity of her own.

In any case, it is clearly an abuse of the legal process.

I recently heard a chopper nearby flying low and not moving much. I didn't know what was going on. There had been no sirens, so I thought maybe a construction project, only someone who'd seen it briefly said it was a small chopper.

Another guy and I went to investigate. They say seeing is believing, but I saw this and I still couldn't believe it. I found a video online of the operation. I'd had no idea. I wonder who dreamed this up. It involves some highly skilled flying.

BoredPanda is one of the few sites I like for interesting humor without an overload of advertising and popups. They still have it; just not as much as most.

This is an April Fool, right?

https://phys.org/news/2019-04-researchers-develop-way-to-control.html
This is the first clear demonstration of controlling the speed of a pulse light in free space ..

Perhaps I can also run 30 times faster than I can run? If light can do it then I should be able to also.

Probably not a joke, but rather...

...shitty science journalism. It's a clickbait piece for folks that know nothing should exceed the speed of light. The researchers appear to have found a way to do

Why not? Maybe light was in hurry at that time, who are you to question it?
