Thanks - if you're still in touch with her, would you mind asking her if she had any early-warning symptoms, or did the stomach damage manifest without warning? (Also the dosage she was using would be useful to know.) I always take with food, generally with dinner, so that's a help. But sounds like experimentation is in order to see if "only take when actual inflammation manifests" is similarly effective to daily prophylaxis.

You might consider indomethacin. Our experience is that it is easier on our stomach. You need a prescription for it but it is not expensive.
