It is interesting that Harley designed in a gear whine. I wonder if it can compete with the roar of a V-twin. Noise seems to be one of the main attractions for many bikers.

Noise is rather important for pedestrians, too. If they can't see you coming, and they can't hear you coming, how can they get out of your way?

Now, I try never to assume that a moving vehicle makes noise.
