110 digits subproject?

I have come up with the idea of a "110 digits" subproject, over a smaller range, to be done in parallel with #3. As I think just the opinion of the mods isn't enough to determine whether this will go ahead, I have posted this poll to find out what the general opinion is about this.

The general opinion seems to be "yes", so anyone got ideas for a good range to do?

Do we have all sequences done to 110 digits in the ranges 1-100k and 100k-200k?

No - sequence 10650 is the first below 110 digits.

BTW - Andi, were you the one who just voted for "not at the same time as #3"? The reason I was thinking to do them in parallel is so that there is always "easy" work around as well.

There are two votes for "not at the same time as #3", I was one of those votes. My suggestion would be to do everything below 1M to 100 digits first, but as the majority voted just "yes", we can do a range to 110 digit in parallel to #3 as well. For this I would vote for one of the "lower" ranges.

If the objective is also to get more terminations, then we should target all sequences currently at 100+ digits without a driver (regardless of any range).

Which is what we used to do, and you are still open to do it if you want. That's what the "Recommended Sequences" thread is there for.

I voted yes, though it will slow down the other sub-project.

I think getting 0-200 to 110 digits would be first.

All right, considering taking a sequence to 110 digits takes a while longer, should we make it a 50k range instead?

Edit: or 40k (10k-50k)

Greebley 2009-10-13 18:39

10k-50k seems a good start to me.

Why not 0k-50k? Or 0k-40k? I'm not really sure of how many below 10k are below 110 digits, but unless someone else is working on that section, might as well start at the bottom and go up.

I think it'd be good to run a section to 110 digits at the same time as Subproject 3.
