Oops. Looks like I got the 0 and 1 in the dates mixed up...I blame the British way of arranging the date. Yeah, that's it.

It's a good thing we don't have to report on big financials also. The commas and periods always catch me off guard at first.
Oops. Looks like I got the 0 and 1 in the dates mixed up...I blame the British way of arranging the date. Yeah, that's it.
Maybe we should put YYYY/MM/DD instead to avoid confusion.
Maybe we should put YYYY/MM/DD instead to avoid confusion.
I was kidding, (kidding/being sarcastic, hence the "") but if we're thinking of changing the date format, I'd suggest the ISO standard: YYYY-MM-DD (similar to your suggested format). The downside is that this is longer than the current one, but only by 2 characters.

RichD 2010-01-18 20:39
Maybe we should put YYYY/MM/DD instead to avoid confusion.
Or a date format of DD-MMM-YY which is a bit old fashion, pre-Y2K -- but still serves a useful purpose.

Today: 18-JAN-10

Me neither. I even submitted its full factorization through Report Factors. Didn't change a thing. I'd suggest you just run it in aliqueit and post the .elf here when you're at 100 digits.
In verifying the DB's data through aliqueit, I noticed that the penultimate line in the DB (963) has a composite cofactor (a c95 with likely no factors below 20 digits) listed as prime. So the last line that the DB has completely correct is 962.

Can you please attach the .elf files here? (preferably zipped, in more than one post if necessary) All three of those have been vandalized in the DB. Only 789740 was already at 100 digits before being vandalized. (if you don't have it past index 708, you don't need to post its elf file)

Some malfeasant out there has been using the "Set Prime" button (access to which is granted manually to "trusted" DB users, though somehow it got in the wrong hands by accident) to mark known composites in Aliquot sequences as prime, which throws off the entire sequence by filling it with junk data.

Fortunately, Syd (the DB admin) has now got word of this and turned off the "Set Prime" button across the board. Therefore there shouldn't be any more vandalism, though there's still a number of preexisting instances of it that he'll need to clean up as soon as he gets to it.

please give your completed sequences when done.
you posted several times your seqs are done but seems not completely, like for 768270. perhaps others, too. please check again.

to frmky:
please after submitting the seqs to the FactorDB, go there, click "Quick ECM" for at least once so the DB got all small factors (otherwise i have to do this). to almost every seq from your submissions i can add several lines only by Quick ECM.

i've just uploaded the new page upto post #137 so some more work to do!

Is there anything we can do about these false primes? They suddenly seem very common. Is Sid the only one that can fix them? We need a repair on the factor page to recheck primality or allow one to test factors.
Looks like I marked you down for the wrong one. I fixed it.
I wasn't upset, just insuring the records are straight.

Hence, the attached elf:

EdH 2010-01-26 20:12

790776 shows completed in the db and aliqueit verified it as good.

I can't get into the db anymore now, so I'll wait for awhile before reserving anything else...

I've just posted the last batch of sequences for this subproject: 795k-800k. Get 'em while they're hot!
Taking 796992.

Oops, I forgot to remove that one after adding the 800k batch. (I removed all the ones over 100 digits, and saw that one, and forgot to remove it)

Some :censored: mystery worker has been at it in the few hours since I reserved it.

For some reason most of these sequences already seem to be at 90 digits or more. Looks like there is an active mystery worker.

Greebley 2010-01-27 19:54

Didn't realize Ed already had 790788. I forgot the part where you check for posts above yours. I happened to run it 10 indices past his so the database will have them when it is fixed. Nothing exciting happened in those 10 indices.
