Let's call it a "school" computer. Go to your NFS@Home preferences at http://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/prefs.php?subset=project and under Separate preferences for school, select only lasieved. Then, under Computers at http://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/hosts_user.php select details on the particular computer and at the bottom change location to school. That computer, and any others labelled as school, will only get lasieved workunits.

Using this technique, you can set up four classes of computer, default, home, school, and work.

That worked PLUS we finally figured out how to remotely control BOINC.
Please explain me how under linux. Thank you.
We tested with a minimal (no GUI) installation of Debian. We installed "boinc-client" and then edited the files in /etc/boinc-client as needed and then connected from "boinc-manager" running on our main computer. When we connected it walked us through the login process.

Let us know how far you get and maybe we can walk you through whatever doesn't work.

So even not running BOINC on my main computer (old laptop) I need to install it to remotely access my BOINC cruncher? The latter is running under VM linux. I access it via logmein.

In weird news, we are having to restart four different post-processing jobs because (we think) the USB key we used to transfer the files to our various computers is faulty. We have had two jobs fail on the "nc3" phase in the last week.

This time we will use "md5sum" to make sure the files are intact. We would transfer the files over our wireless network but it takes hours and hours to transfer them.

Hopefully it is okay for us to turn in our work much later than expected.

A general question: What is the difference between "16e Lattice Sieve 1.10" and "16e Lattice Sieve V5 1.10"?

16e Lattice Sieve is being used to sieve 2,1037- from q=~20M and 16e Lattice Sieve V5 from q=1000M. The former will go until q=1000M and the latter will go until 1400M. 16e V5 allows sieving over larger q and uses a little less memory.

Did you need to restart S1723m83? I've moved those files offline.
