I have recreated both files from GW_10_239 folder on server the same thing is happening. I double click start and it just flashes and then closes. Do I need to notify Greg that there is an issue? I have also tried removing N from the fb file to no avail. One thing that could be worth noting is the fb file has a picture the same as the note pad icon instead of the icon showing as white. I saved the file the same way I always do going file save as changing the drop down box to All files then typing the name of the file file then the extension however the extension is not showing at the end of the file like it is for the ini file |

I don't understand. Are you suggesting that msieve.ini contains 4173963189037240309713561470980060844301599530724369583171546744398445920275944654104909360191816721597816377363188552009346572473 ? In which case, it is clearly wrong; you need to copy the N value from msieve.fb into msive.ini. |

I was not for one moment suggesting that the file contained the number you mentioned above. I am not sure where you got that number from but it is clearly not the number for GW_10_239 the number is as follows: 23860273113196453136292550329157638488808118256612808370360292083244702732990683867728691378992015821556450151867165814430018587691067583918732349046778697148258041153927099384857128022077451 Unless there is an issue server side? |

You are correct, I apologise. I am unsure what is going on I will post in the reservation thread to give this number to somebody else. Thank you for the assistance you have provided |

if msieve.ini contains the wrong number, just copy/paste the right number from msieve.fb, and you should be good to go. |

The way to know for sure what actual extension your file has on Windows is to make sure that feature is turned on. Open an explorer window to any folder on your computer, say to the c:\ so you can see 'program files', etc. Then, click on "Tools" in the menu. If the menu isn't visible you can press the Alt button once, which should make it appear. Then, once you've clicked "Tools", select "Folder Options". Then, once inside "Folder Options", select the "View" tab. Then in the "View" tab there is a box with many checkable options. Find the one for "Hide extensions for known file types" and uncheck it. Then click "OK" and you should be able to see if your files actually have a .fb, or .ini, or .txt file extension. And at this point, renaming the file will actually allow you to change the extension on the file too. When the file extension is hidden, and you change the file name, you are only changing the file name, you are not changing the extension. Hope this helps. |
