I would laugh, but many who have published have been through similar
things. My 2007 paper in J. Math. Cryptology went through several
similar circumstances.

Rick is an old friend of mine from high school and college. He got me started reading Kurt Vonnegut, for which I am grateful.

I don't do Flash plugins (why allow advertisers to bypass my popup blocker and image/animation-disable settings with their flash apps?) ... does the content really need the multimedia jazz, or is it basically text?

I was a bit perplexed with this presentation method (why did they post it like this?), but no, you don't have to do the "flash"-y thing. google will find you a PDF or two. There's some very last portion missing though -- from all PDFs that I've seen. And it seems to be one of the best parts.
