Official "Raiders of the Lost Sequences" thread
 

So I finished my search for open-ended sequences that are not in the list. I found 3 potential sequences that were not on the Aliquot Sequence Summary Pages:

They do not list a merge, seem to be correct, are at or above 80 digits, and don't end with the same value as any other sequence. Only if one of the few missing sequences merges with them would they not be open-ended. I therefore think they are sequences that should be included in the list of open sequences.

This puts my count of open-ended sequences at 9429.

If someone knows why they aren't listed (someone found they terminate?), then post.

I think I will take them to 100 digits to see if they get that far, so reserve them to me.

as an official member of the RieselPrimeSearcher-Group "Raiders of the Lost Primes" (BTW: the name was my suggestion!) i have found the three lost sequences:

have a look at Wolfgangs [url=http://www.aliquot.de/chrono-e.htm]page[/url]:

2001-12-09: 254568 is a side-sequence to 59688 - 254568:i1903 = 59688:i21 = 9111030
2002-06-21: 547140 is a side-sequence to 32016 - 547140:i1657 = 32016:i44 = 481216
2002-07-16: 583950 is a side-sequence to 78660 - 583950:i2880 = 78660:i13 = 2414798

so no new open seqs (for now)!

Looking at the indices, these happen past 80 digits. They must have been run farther. I will get the database up to date with the info you have posted.

i think Wolfgang (and who else) have tested some 'promising' seqs a little bit further (don't know when those stepped down) and therefore of there merging, he deleted them of his list, like the C9C30 and others, but mentioned them in the history!

Are any of our open ended sequences listed as terminating or merging? Have you ever checked?

no, not checked that page, but i've checked Wolfgang's latest C9C30 file against my summary and they are equal!

Ok, the sequences mentioned are now in the database to their merges and are no longer open-ended.

Oh, the list you referred to also mentions 47784 and you can fill in the question marks for that entry. Looks like Bosma found it.

19410 and 42800 should now be the only two sequences under 1 million that are open ended and don't appear on the summary page. However both are in the list as prime and merged and it is only a matter for me to run the seqs up to their resolution. At that point the db and summary list should agree barring only a very recent submission of a terminated sequence to the db that is not yet in the summary.

I calculated this automatically and get the same results, so I have high confidence there are no missing open sequences once I prove 19410 and 42800 terminate.
