Or email or upload the log somewhere automatically, if extracting the factors from the file would be too hard. (and assuming the DB can't see the factors in a GGNFS log file)
It shouldn't be too hard to make a script to FTP the log to a site every hour. (you can set up a command for FileZilla, for example, to upload a specific file to a specific place, and then use something to get it to run every hour, even just a batch file with "filezilla [args] \n sleep 1h \n ...") That way, we could check the status of it as it goes and get the factors once they're ready. |

I meant, with luck the matrix will be finished by then. As of now, with 56894719 relations, 45324704 unique, we have:
matrix is 5525542 x 5525789 (1619.6 MB) with weight 419589043 (75.93/col) sparse part has weight 369304539 (66.83/col)
ETA, 58 hours, so sunday evening, and I'll be back by then. |
Sorry about this: we've had a collection of large and power-cut-causing thunderstorms in Cambridge and, rushing around to fix up things that had been unexpectedly power-cut, I forgot to upload 12-13 (the power-cut meant that the credentials required for uploading direct from my office got lost, I had to go via another machine ... insert general disorganised excuse here)
It's uploading now, should be with you in two hours (pesky asymmetric ADSL), but is almost certainly not worth waiting for. |

Sorry, but I wasn't sure if I'd have your last range before I left, and just wanted to make sure something was running while I'm gone... which will be in another 30 min :) |
Just finished, and reported to the database:

Nice job.

So how much is the recommended ecm for a 62 digit factor? I am wondering how long ecm would have taken for this case.

I think we did just under t50 (check "Sequence 4788" for the exact curve count), and the chance to find the p62 was probably only about 1 or 2 percent. To find that p62 would probably require about twice t60. In short: It was not an ECM miss. |
Ok, who ROT-13'd the title? :newcat:
