Babies are passengers, too.
Yet another good reason to ban children from all forms of public transport. It there a way to use the terrorism laws to ban them and their putrid bottom ejecta?

only_human 2015-03-19 21:38

A determination can be made that their putrid bottom ejecta is providing material support for terrorism.

Summary:
A Dutch chain of toy shops has been selling an "extendable inspection mirror" amongst its offerings for children.

A customer is quoted as saying:
I was in shock. I was in the shop with my little son when I saw it, and I was horrified. Small children are there, and they'll think this is normal behaviour if they see these adverts everyday. I suppose I can imagine the fun for a child playing with a mirror on a stick in the woods, but the picture by the product leaves no possible doubt what its purpose is.
A spokeswoman for the toy store chain has just this evening announced that the mirrors will immediately be removed from all the shops.

Broadband skullduggery

http://consumerist.com/2015/03/25/new-homeowner-has-to-sell-house-because-of-comcasts-incompetence-lack-of-competition/
Only months after moving into his new home in Washington state, Consumerist reader Seth is already looking to sell his house. He didn’t lose his job or discover that the property is haunted. No, Seth can’t stay much longer because no one can provide broadband service to his address; even though Comcast and CenturyLink both misled him into thinking he’d be connected to their networks and in spite of the fact that his county runs a high-speed fiberoptic network that goes very near to his property.

Like an increasing number of Americans, Seth works from home, meaning that it’s vital that he have a reliable high-speed Internet connection at all times. That’s why before he even put an offer on the house in Kitsap County, WA, he contacted Comcast to confirm that he could get service to his potential new address.

According to Seth, who has kept a detailed timeline of events, one Comcast sales rep even said that a previous resident at this address had been a Comcast customer. Seth says he tried to get it in writing that the house was serviceable, but Comcast said they simply do not do that.

There was a big discussion about that on Slashdot a couple weeks ago.

Slightly related: here is a parent video from a Russian high school's creative talent contest.
Apparently this is a musical version of Winnie the Pooh.
The video seems vaguely not safe for work. Beware.

That is to say that Russian kids will probably not be interested in those questionable Dutch toy mirrors. They've seen it all.

Well, that was quite something. I bet the dance teacher had fun choreographing that.
The irony, as I see it, is that the Russian school's Winnie the Pooh appears to be much more prudishly dressed than the real bear created by A.A.Milne, which was recently banned from a Polish playground for being under-dressed and for having no essential parts where you might expect them.

In that case would this not violate the family friendly nature of this forum?

just sad.

You are conflating family and work. The clip is quite family-friendly! Some toddlers would love it.

It all depends on what goes through your mind while you're watching it. I assumed the dancers were under 18, so had to force myself to pause it partway through, though the NSA probably can't tell on their end.
