Just make sure you spell both shiitake and shiite properly, with the double-i.
(And hope a former Indian student of mine whose surname was unfortunately transliterated as "Dikshit" doesn't start posting here.) Oops. |
It can also cause problems with finger binary, where the fingers represent powers of 2, because numbers of the form [TEX]\sum\limits_{i=m}^n 2^{5i-3}[/TEX] only use the middle fingers. Such numbers include http://oeis.org/A013823 and all the possible sums of any numbers in said sequence.
That's an excellent point, posted immediately following a post by Paul whose avatar nicely displays the result for m=n=1 a fraction of the time. I wonder if screenshots of Paul's posts are causing problems when caught at the unfortunate moment. |
I guess just the mention of 'cannabis' was enough to trigger the watchers. This suggests a guardian simple enough to also block "Breast Cancer Awareness Week."
Sorry, Jeff. I did not intend to set off any such ludicrous reactions.
The fun continues! Today I was informed that the malware Black Energy is of particular concern (my current project being putting windows XP and server 2003 on new hardware It makes sense that a resurgence in a 7 year old threat might be of concern.) So I was familiarizing myself with the software by checking out the many web based resources when Websense blocked pages from Kaspersky and the Guardian. And suddenly were blocking any page off of a Google search with Black Energy in the text. Although the work around Websense's stupidity in this case was easy I was still annoyed. |
This is the sort of nonsense which obstructs users, but probably doesn't do much to protect the company's system.
Kind of like airport security. If it is enough hassle you just have to feel safer. :loco: |
Frack waste injection wells contaminating aquifers
http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/news/press_releases/2014/fracking-10-06-2014.html
SAN FRANCISCO— Almost 3 billion gallons of oil industry wastewater have been illegally dumped into central California aquifers that supply drinking water and farming irrigation, according to state documents obtained by the Center for Biological Diversity. The wastewater entered the aquifers through at least nine injection disposal wells used by the oil industry to dispose of waste contaminated with fracking fluids and other pollutants. The documents also reveal that Central Valley Water Board testing found high levels of arsenic, thallium and nitrates — contaminants sometimes found in oil industry wastewater — in water-supply wells near these waste-disposal operations. “Clean water is one of California’s most crucial resources, and these documents make it clear that state regulators have utterly failed to protect our water from oil industry pollution,” said Hollin Kretzmann, a Center attorney. “Much more testing is needed to gauge the full extent of water pollution and the threat to public health. But Governor Brown should move quickly to halt fracking to ward off a surge in oil industry wastewater that California simply isn’t prepared to dispose of safely.” The state’s Water Board confirmed beyond doubt that at least nine wastewater disposal wells have been injecting waste into aquifers that contain high-quality water that is supposed to be protected under federal and state law. "$140,000 extra if you let us keep your cat" - I wonder if this is just a one-off or if it might serve as a new kind of housing-bubble indicator. |

I guess 11 inches is "puppy-sized." I think I'd rather have the puppy in my living room. |
