my record for just water is about 32 cups a day ( going with 250 instead of 236 you get about 8 liters) though I think I got water intoxication symptoms that day.

Be careful. For sure you can die from that! It is not how much you drink, but how fast you do it. Drinking too much water too fast can kill you, the neurons will take in the water and increase in volume and crack open. I remember reading some years ago about a women who died like that. Let me search it.

I think part of it was because of exercise and the rest was diluting sodium. I'm more afraid of it shutting down ADH and having polyuria.

Depends on where you are and what you are doing. While in the Navy, I was on a ship that pulled into Mombasa, Kenya, where I was sent on a helicopter to the airport to palletize cargo and then wrap it with a net for transport, all in 100+ dergree heat out on the flightline. During that day, I drank 14 1-liter bottles of water without needing to go to the bathroom once.
