from what I've read it doesn't seem very green in that where does the alkaline water go unless it's neutralized it is as bad as the pollution. |
from what I've read it doesn't seem very green in that where does the alkaline water go unless it's neutralized it is as bad as the pollution.
Alkalinity in sewerage is not usually a problem. Normally industrial users are allow a pH range of the discharge from ~5.5 up to 10 or 11. Acids erode the pipes, bases clear out grease and oil deposits. The only real reason for the upper limit is for either force mains or worker safety near the discharge.
I have taken courses in waste water treatment and know a fair bit about the enforcement end too. |
It seems Ohio's problem has more to do with disappearing evidence than any actual issues.
Probably, you meant to say one “foul” swoop. Actually, it is one fell swoop.
Here's a fowl swoop for you: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/08/researchers-uncover-rsa-phishing-attack-hiding-in-plain-sight.ars Opening an Excel Spreadsheet on Windows with flash was enough to compromise RSA security. Wow! More amateurs masquerading as pros! |
One of my clients uses the RSA SecureId device mentioned in the article. Just this week I received a replacement device good for six years, even though the existing device did not expire for two more years. This could be a serious revenue hit for RSA.

it's not the story that made me surprised, but someones comment on it:
Really? what a joke. the U.S government takes planes and flys them into there own buildings, kills hundreds, blames muslims then Canada and Great Britain join in on the lie and now there telling us to use caution this 911? LOL thanks guys but i have a better idea. Why not tell us the next time you plan on sacrifice the lot of us and we'll just stay home that day.
my reply:
<person> even if they government did do 911 , you asked them to warn you if they plan to do it again but you don't take their current warning that may be that warning seriously ? , you are clueless in the logic department my friend: 911 ( supposedly planned by gov) + government warning for the anniversary ( the warning you are asking for) = the very thing you asked for and you are telling them off as though they don't know if it's going to happen again ( which kinda sounds to me that they didn't plan it) which is it it can't be both !
|

That was obvious the day it hit the news....because anyone seriously concerned about security would have to wonder if RSA security meant anything at all. Replacing the device falls under the 'calculator rule'....not much $$ was in the individual copy of the calculator; it all went into engineering it in the first place. It probably cost more to drop it in FedEx to you than it did to make another one. How long before that translates to more air-gapped and non-Windows systems is anybody's guess. I have some ideas on how to secure an OS, based on Tannenbaum's minix, but I'm too busy at work to really pursue it. I certainly remember having an air-gapped PC when I worked for ATI on the Rage5, some years back. |
