E-cigarette 'lights man's trousers' in Kentucky
Here is some genuine WTF material.
A man's e-cigarette appeared to set his trousers alight as he paid a cashier at a petrol station in the US state of Kentucky. :max: The moment, captured on CCTV, shows the man rushing outside where staff doused the flames with a fire extinguisher.
|

Using all those British words to describe an event in America feels wrong. Good thing having an open flame outside at a gas station didn't cause an explosion! |
I have wondered about the source of flames. The first thought was of butane, as in a lighter. However, I am pretty sure that vaporizers of all sorts are electric. In that light, could this have been a catastrophic failure of a lithium ion battery?

It looks like something sprayed out of his pocket in a downward direction, and as he exits the store, the "thing" falls to the floor inside the store. Catastrophic captures things pretty well as a description of what happened. At the risk of sounding like I tend to concern myself about such things, I hope his manparts are okay. Some bad burns are worse than others, if you get my meaning. |
I noticed the jets of flame, too. I have certainly seen video of a laptops bursting into flames.
This is a forced demonstration, not actual cases. |
For those of you who like explosions, general mayhem or seeing two very intelligent men(maybe not relative to this forum, but certainly to the general population) behave like retards, I highly recommend the following Youtube channel.
Edit: I'm not sure why my youtube tags aren't working, so I just switched them to regular urls. The Marvels of Alabama State Government
Beside what's in the headline below, the State have also cut education, closed and cut back state parks, and generally cried that they are broke.

Now, news has emerged that Bentley recently gave four of his cabinet members $73,405 raises — an 80 percent increase from the $91,000 salaries they were making previously.
EDIT: I really wanted to put this in Soap Box, but could not find quite the right niche. |
