Would you please confirm for me that we have matching residues?
No problem. I'll do it tomorrow morning, since I have no access to the machine from home and I'ven't put yet any process to inform me about the status of the work. It is possible that the process crashed... We'll now tomorrow.
For now, I have a wonderful book to read: Utal Hawa (Wild Wind) by Taslima Nasreen (after Amar Meyebela (My Girlhood)). Read it ! Beautiful books about life in Bangladesh of a girl. Autobiography.

i think there are several reasons that the prime hasnt been discovered by the press:
1. it has not been announced on the front page of mersenne.org
2. the thread is hidden away in the primenet subforum not lounge like usual
3. the press is getting a little bored of them since it is the third in 10 months
Tony, Kevin,

I'm running freshly compiled code, as such I get a little paranoid :drama:.

Would you please confirm for me that we have matching residues?
Iter# = 400000 Res64: 105007A65A192DF9
Thank you!

PS: I've just passed the 10% completion mark.
I didn't have the option to print interim residues every so often enabled, but I believe it is now.

Primeinator 2009-06-08 01:44

Random, slightly unrelated question, but are Wd1 interim residues pretty much the same thing as Res64? They are both in hexadecimal.

I'm pretty sure it's the exact same thing, just mprime/prime95 calling it Wd1 and Mlucas calling it Res64.

Primeinator 2009-06-08 02:11

Oh because Prime95 previously called it Res64 if memory serves correctly. Of course I could be completely off my rocker...
I'm pretty sure it's the exact same thing, just mprime/prime95 calling it Wd1 and Mlucas calling it Res64.
Wd1 is the code for the current version (25.9) of the program, IIRC.

Mine are quite different?!?
1Mil Res64: B888A4E085915350
2Mil Res64: E58A6CA45863341A
3Mil Res64: 48267344B9976A4D
4Mil Res64: 105007A65A192DF9
5Mil Res64: 07558BC6A5CA6316

I know that the Mlucas residue matches the Glucas code normally. Is Prime95 showing a different part of the residue?

That doesn't sound good. Perhaps Kevin and Tony should post their results for the corresponding residues. If we get too many different results I will be willing to double-check the exponent as well but I will wait until there is need to do so (if that ever arises).

Batalov 2009-06-08 06:08

...and check if they are testing the same number.
