getting started with ubuntu 8.04

new to these forums!

I'm trying to get prime95 working with ubuntu. I downloaded the package but when I click on the program icon nothing happens. What do I need to do please ?

It runs from the command prompt.

You need to uncompress it and untar it first.

Then, in "Terminal", go to the directory it is in and run:

[code]./mprime -m[/code]There are many other ways to run it. This subforum has a lot of info.
