try ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/mprime2510-FreeBSD.tar.gz
Thanks for the FreeBSD support once again. We are out there! But I can't seem to get it to do multithreaded workers nor multiple workers. The "2. Test/Worker threads" menu item only lets me choose a single priority and type of work, unlike the linux versions of mprime that let me choose for each core. Running 7.2 amd64 on 2x E5540 (i7 Xeons) and 24GB DDR3 ECC Reg on the Intel 5520 chipset. I hope I didn't miss something in the readme, etc. Thanks again! |
It sounds like the code to detect number of cores is broken. Try putting "NumCPUS=2" in local.txt.

Thanks for the tip. The E5540 is quad core, so I put "NumCPUS=8" in local.txt. It worked fine.
I am planning to try multithreading the workers when I get a chance. Last time I tried it with 25.8 on Linux system, 3 threads to a worker for a 2048K FFT scaled well. Any more did not help. |
