Just delete the directory.
Please consider finishing your current assignment if you've already made significant progress, otherwise the work you've done on it will be lost. Then choose the Advanced/Quit GIMPS option when you have an internet connection to ensure that your results are returned to the server and your pending assignments are unreserved. You don't have to do any of these things - your assigned work will eventually expire anyway - but doing so will ensure that your pending assignments are made available to others more quickly.
