Minimum recommended resources for the 29 bit jobs 3GB of memory, dual core 64 bit system - should take 3-7 days. For the 30 bit jobs we recommend at least 64 bit Quad core system with 4 GB of DDR2 memory. That should finish in 6-10 days; DDR3 memory will finish faster.

O.k. probably missing something but signed up at the above link and keep sieving only.

4GB ddr2 WinXP 64 3.6Ghz Quad, still need the help post processing?

debrouxl 2010-11-28 16:55

Indeed, the RSALS BOINC infrastructure is doing sieving only. Post-processing happens later, off-grid - and we always need help for 29-bit large primes tasks and beyond

Currently, there are two unreserved tasks ready for post-processing, which would suit well to your computer: 911_73_minus1 and 571_79_minus1, both 29-bit large primes tasks. I'm going to send you the download info through the PM system.

Another Festival Factorization! Greg Childers had the fun of finishing this one.

Two more Festival Factorizations and the beginning of the end of the Festival. The Finishing Factorizations Festival began with a backlog of numbers that had finished sieving and needed post processing. The last currently ready number has been claimed. There are two more 30 bit tasks that will finish soon.

I previously failed to notice and report these from the Finishing Factorization Festival. They were a big help in getting caught up on the post processing back log. Thanks to Greg Childers and Jeff Gilchrist for these and other factorizations reported earlier.

Let me know when there are more and if I should run 3 cores next time. Also looking around for some deals on 4GB sticks. Can't find anything reasonable at 1066mhz speeds, actually can't even find anything at that speed and size.

Did Greg and I double efforts? No big deal if that was the case I know I was having issues until I found out that everyone is using msieve now.

Just send me a note to start any further post processing, it was pretty simple.
