DC-Vault listing and NPLB website

Let's use this thread to make suggestions on what we need to give us full web presence and stats features and requests for enhancements.

The main reason it defaults to that behavior is *most* folks with computers do not know a darn thing about them.
The OS is having to take proactive steps to protect itself because the users won't update their software, most because they don't know how or they don't know it's important to keep updated.
I also allow the downloads to happen automatically, but I choose when to install, that way it's on my HDD and takes less time to do the updates.
I'll bet most don't know what Patch Tuesday is or when the last time their anti-virus software was updated, if they even have one installed. :wink:

One thing that would make a HUGE difference to this project is if you could get it listed on the DC Vault.

As the team leader, I would think you should get yourself a loginID over there so you can answer any questions about the project.

Yes I agree. This would bring in lots more teams and users. If you can get some rivalry going the project gets an enormous boost. Look at what occurred at Wieferich when Ars Tech and Norway were in a gauntlet.

Gary you need to register and visit / post at the DC-Vault. There appears to be one person who doesn't understand that a project with 10 teams ever can only flourish if the project gets "vaulted".

Since he quoted the Free-DC stats all he had to do was click on the Project name on the Free-DC stats pages to go to the correct project site.

I'm trying to answer all his questions, as they are valid.


After thinking about it further, what is truly needed:
1) A real fully registered Domain Name (NPLB.org/.net NoPrimeLeftBehind.org/.net perhaps) [url]https://www.easydns.com[/url] $25 per year
2) A fully developed web site on the opening page
2a) Contains linkages to, Server Status, Project Stats, How to get Started, and other important information
3) Anything else of value, like what is NPLB, why does it exist, what does it do, FAQ pages, support links to clients and how to sections, etc.

Anyone willing to develop the front page? I'm not a web designer.

I'd like the users to be able to edit their own entries as to which team they want to be on and the email address they would like to use to be notified when they find primes.

When a user switches teams, the points should stay with the team.

Make this thread sticky so it remains at the top, for now...

Need full instructions on the website on how to submit Primes when found.

Should have a fully qualified Domain Name, like NPLB.org/.net or maybe NoPrimeLeftBehind.org/.net

Need a fully redesigned front page, with official NPLB Logo.
What the project is, does and goals of the project fully explained.
Links to all Stats, Server Status, FAQ.
How to Join the project, select a Team and edit their email address in the stats database
Where to download the clients, how to edit the llr-clientconfig.txt file.
List of available Servers and ports and what each one is working on.
