3189*2^524796-1 is prime.

3065*2^525000-1 is prime. However, the 5000th prime is now bigger than this (n=525997 at time of this post).

524K-525K is complete.

What's gonna happen with the mini-drive now?

Simple: we need to start pouring it on to get it back above the top-5000 threshold! :glare: In fact I just noticed this earlier today and am planning to put my quad on it for a little while as soon as my current work is done...however, that may not be quite enough since my current work will last for the next week or two at least.

Gary, I know you're currently out of town and wouldn't normally be making significant modifications to your machines' workloads, but considering that time is of the essence for getting this drive moved at least a little bit forward, what about if I set up a private PRPnet server and moved two of your port 6000 quads to it? Even one would at least be something, though I'm thinking two are needed to make up the ground that we've already lost.

Alright. I'll continue along with reserving 525K-526K. With my quad core, it take about ~4 days to complete a 1K range. Unfortunately, the 5000th prime is getting larger faster than I can complete a range.

I figured this was coming. PrimeGrid is just smoking the bottom of the top-5000 range now.

Yes, go ahead and pull 2 port 6000 quads over to a new PRPnet server for me here. I'll leave it to you to reserve them for me and move the quads over. Be sure and return the port 6000 pairs with ./do.pl -c first. Thanks for taking the time to do that.

As for Gamer's question about what's gonna happen with the drive here; I think he meant in the longer term. In the longer term, that's still up in the air.

P.S.: Gary, could you please post some files here when you get the chance? Seems with this reservation we're fresh out of them.

Currently Top5000 5000th place is at about n=526400 and we are at n=527100.

So a few days gained. More work to do further.
