Hey all,
I was just thinking of keeping this drive going as is. With Karsten and Gamer knocking out the ranges fairly quickly, I can just go ahead and extend the range to n=600K or 650K. What do you think? If it stalls, we can open it up, either to a server and/or people with more resources. We have a full sieve file for it. IIRC, the entire range for k=2000-3400 for n=500K-650K is sieved far enough to P=30T so this could just keep right on going to n=650K. n>650K may need to be sieved further. Gary |

Gary[/quote] I'm all for continuing this up to n=600K. IMO, it's nice to have a drive available in the top-5000-prime-rich <650K region that doesn't require as much resources to move forward as the main drives. I'd actually be interested in doing some more work here myself in the future (possibly after I've finished my Riesel base 23 effort on my quad) if it's extended, since it's quite nicely suited to my resources. With the other NPLB drives, I (and presumably others with simlar resources) tend to get the feeling that it hardly will make a difference whether I put my resources on them or not. |
Works for me. Any other thoughts from anyone?

keep a drive with only manual reservations, because it's easier for admins to handle this instead for a mostly automated drive with some manual ranges.
i'll keep crunching here, because of the 'low' n-values: got some 'older' maschines worth searching here. |
OK, I'll change the thread name and references to the range in the 1st post. In a few days, I'll post some more files.
I'll go ahead and extend it up to n=650K since we don't need any more sieving until we get there. If it stays reasonably close to the 11th drive, which is at n=~525K, then we'll be able to sieve all of n=2000-3400 at once to gain the efficiency needed to make it worth sieving further. Happy searching! |
