As long as we are using Jason's msieve-gpu branch, and there is not yet a gpu version of lasieve4, then I think it does not take away from optimality to do a bit more poly searching than usual.

go into the sequence,and beside the quick ecm button there is a >> button,click it,and at the bottom of the page you cant report the curves you've done.
