As has been noted in the other thread, P Zimmerman has unreserved 276, the lowest unterminated sequence, due to a C201 surviving a t60 of ECM with no luck. Do we the forum want to take this on? It should be mostly doable as a team effort, with the notable exception of linear algebra requiring quite substantial centralized hardware. We'd need a pretty solid commitment from certain individual people to reserve 276 in good faith.

Given its relative importance to this particular subforum though, I would be happy to dedicate my (extremely limited) resources to it.

Oh, and yoyo/ChristianB, it seems to me that the suitable course of action would be to remove PZimmerman's reservation of 276 from the site. And incidentally, what's the collective opinion of all contributors about perhaps examining and removing certain other "ghost" reservations from people who don't seem to have made progress in many years?

Well I assumed my intent was clear :smile:

To be accurate, removing certain other ghost reservations where 1) the reservation itself is years old 2) the sequence hasn't been updated publicly/on the FDB in years, and 3) the reserver in question hasn't made contacted in years and is unable to be contacted before the reservation is dropped.

And to unhijack the other thread (perhaps a mod could assist in that endeavor?)...

I suppose when I said "we" for 4788 I rather did mean "Ryan" :smile: and of course I meant him in certain other tangential references as well. We'd probably need to hear from him before committing to a C201. Glad to see there's some interest to it though.

How much RAM would LA require? Would a 64G box be enough?
