CURL library error
 
I'm getting CURL library errors when I attempt to get candidate exponents. For example:

What do I need to do to get Prime95 to communicate correctly with the server? So far I've succeeded in trial-factoring just one Mersenne candidate on CPU#0 and none on CPU #1 (I have a dual-core processor).

Most likely the server is having a little hiccup. Be patient.

Did you make sure that the options are set up Test->Worker Windows to 2 workers?

I believe I did. Unfortunately I can't currently run the program. When i do, I get this Windows box:

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available.

I tried rerunning the Zipped folder to write over the original Prime95 program but I got the same result when I ran that one.

I don't know if this could've caused the Prime95 crash:
I decided to Test the program by going through small M candidates. 5 and 7 produced Mersenne primes. The test crashed when I tested 11 (M11 = 23*89).

Okay, how do you do a maunal communication? I just did a clean reinstall of Prime95. Worker #1 is waiting for work; Worker #2 got the same CURL Error AGAIN!!!! It's waiting another 70 minutes for the next window...

Update: I just did a benchmark test, run in Worker 1's (CPU 0) window. I then restarted both Workers. 1 began trial factoring a 40-million digit Mersenne number, 2 timed out with yet ANOTHER CURL library error and is on a 70-minute break. After 1 finished its first trial factor it began trial factoring a 16-million digit Mersenne number - the one originally assigned to Worker 2 before it timed-out.

Thanks for the heads-up. But I'm still getting time-outs, so here's the latest from Copy Window. At least both cores are currently at work. It seems that each time I "Contact PrimeNet server now" I get from zero to a few updates before the next time-out.

Could these time-outs errors be the reason why my Worker #1 has 13 Mersenne numbers to trial-factor and #2 has NONE?

If your connection to the Mersenne server is so intermittent, why not switch to work units that take longer to complete?

I switched to LL-DCs, which each take 1-2 weeks to accomplish. No further problems, and my CPU credits accumulate more quickly. Besides, I just might find a prime at the 20-meg level more quickly doing double-checks than doing initial LL's at 30-to-45 megs.
