c97 GNFS not possible?
I have read somewhere in an other thread, that the crossover between MPQS and GNFS is somewhere at 95 digits. So I wanted to search a GNFS-poly for a c97 with this command line:
msieve -v -p -np 1922281060567477993725663693305396565143847954132229015352758919426135242241392768739857850178863
msieve now starts to factor this number using Quadratic sieve. when I type msieve -?, it says that NFS is performed for "97+ digits only". So "97+" means "98 digits or higher?" |

the easiest way to get the latest version is to install cygwin after that once i had deleted all cygwin dlls previously scattered around my system it has worked perfectly once i have got my 64-bit linux virtual machine running smoothly i will hopefully work out how to cross-compile windows binaries that dont need any dlls |
