Variant of the Theramin concept
http://www.gizmag.com/aura-hand-gestures/30888/
I find the original form of the instrument more elegant, although there are more controllable parameters for the Aura. The gauntlets might provide some on-stage flash, if suitably embellished with say, programmable LEDs. I play a MIDI wind controller, which translates various "gestures," such as fingering keys and varying one's breath, into MIDI control signals. These are sent to a big old rack mounted synth which can produce all kinds of sounds. Consequently, I'm in no position to be too critical of other instruments of the same broad type. I wonder if it will make it past the prototype stage. It could be a lot of fun. On the other hand, these little jewels are around now- http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Theremini and not only make their own sounds, but produce both MIDI and CV (control voltage for analog synths) Finally, here is the piece which put me in mind of the theramin. Tex Perkins is someone I just recently got turned on to. |
Jazz in Union square

Just right for me, today... |
Soundgarden: Live to Rise

This is the song that plays during the end credits of Marvel's The Avengers - I actually like it better on the movie DVD, without the distraction of the overlaid movie-promo action sequences. Soundgarden rocks. (If you're a fan of grunge and don't yet own Superunknown - well, then you're not a real fan of grunge. :) |
Who is singing these?
It seems that no one has posted in this thread for a while.
I found these trance songs (Ignore the artwork. It has nothing to do with the songs, just the DJ.): https://soundcloud.com/johnnytrance/johnny-nes-trance-remix-3 https://soundcloud.com/johnnytrance/johnny-nes-trance-remix-8 And I was wondering: Who's the woman singing those lyrics? I can't understand them, so I can't Google them (they might be foreign). Could someone please tell me who sings them? It's been bothering me for the past month or so. I don't know why the DJ didn't put artist info in the description. |
Here's one of my favorites:
(The other video is quite something else entirely; like Leaving Las Vegas in 6 minutes. Fairly optimistic compared to Meine herz brennt, though) |
