Don't know how y'all pronounce "Z"
But if if you said "Zed" it helps with this gem if any was needed.
Just (belatedly) realized that this is the best version of "Amazing Grace" I have ever heard (by some distance I would add). David |
Well there is this group/duo that has become one of my current infatuations.
They are called Pomplamoose. It is generally just the two of them doing multiple tracks. The instrument selection is quite cool. Their videos are infectious and totally addicting. They do a cool blend of covers/re-imaginations and their own original songs. He is a nut behind the drums (and elsewhere). She has a gaze that sees through you. Her voice reminds me of Jesca Hoop and the Ditty Bops with Beth Orton mixed in. Their take on Beat It. Here is a quote about their videos:
Their videos mostly take the form of "VideoSongs", a medium Jack Conte defines with two rules: 1. What you see is what you hear. (No lip-syncing for instruments or voice) 2. If you hear it, at some point you see it. (No hidden sounds)
|
Only for real musicologists
Understanding musical theory sometimes undermines your
appreciation of a piece of music. I adore this song, but I have a feeling that a contributary factor in this is the complete absence of a note or chord. I suspect a short answer would be "minor key", but I would welcome any more exact analysis. (I don't think it will detract from my enjoyment of either of these artists too much). JJ Cale and Eric Clapton PS Having listened to it several more times, I think "minor key" was the answer. Now why can't I play like either of them? David |
Feel a song coming on
Phoned a receptionist yesterday.
Asked her name. It's Sue. Not Runaround Suej jest I, in time-honoured fashion. Hangs up. Can't win 'em all can you? David |
There really are no composer/performers other than Billy Joel.
I particularly think his We Didn't Start The Fire is apropos to my involvement in this mersenne forum. |

Much as I appreciate that recording, you are really talking seriously out of your copious arse here. Ever heard of Bob Dylan? David PS I have a sneaky suspicion someone will mention that **** Neil Diamond soon. Hate him with a vengance. |
