I used to listen to his aptly titled "Honky Tonk"
program in the early/mid? 70s.

One time he was talking to Tom Petty, who opined that
John Lennon was the best rhythm guitarist he had ever heard.

They played "I wanna hold your hand".

At the end I uttered "Yeah" and over the radio, Tom did likewise.
