Optical mouse? Check for dirt under the sensor. Usually it is a hair.

If it is a wheel mouse, the axel is likely dirty.

It is a wheel mouse and probably very dirty.
I curreently navigate by turning the wheels by hand.
But how cime it goes wrong so precipittously?
The horizontal wheel feels stiff, but I'll be buggered
if removing a bit of dirt will cure it (I'vr tried).

I'll buy a new mouse on Monday.

Of Mice and Men

That might have been a wittier title to this mundane thread.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics:
It's easy to f*** up a mouse, but not so easy to mend it :(

(Apologies to Carnot, Clausius, Kelvin et al)
Not to mention Lenz and Sod:smile:

I'm now convinced that I need a bew mouse:
I am rapidly acquiring the art of navigating by rolling the
wheels with my fingers. It's just like tryung to draw a picture
with "Etch a Sketch"!

Tab key is your friend.

This. Nearly every (every?) Windows function, and many functions of programs, can be controlled with only the keyboard.

depends on the program
if it is a well written program or a microsoft program then it should work with just keyboard
menus can be assessed using alt
