who can solve a Rubick's cube and what are you times
also what methods do you use
can you also solve the Rubik's Revenge or the Professor's Cube

my best time for the 3x3x3(Rubik's cube) is 2 minutes 15 seconds although i hope to improve on that soon as i am getting a faster cube for Christmas
i do a layered approach to the 3x3x3
on the 4x4x4(Rubik's Revenge) i solve the centers first then pair up the edge pieces and then do a 3x3x3 solve
on the 5x5x5(Professor's Cube) i do a 4x4x4 solve on the corners, then allign the inner center edges with the outer center edges and then a 3x3x3 solve
i dont know times for 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 although i know i can do the 4x4x4 in <10 minutes

"Rubick's cube" is a common misspelling of "Rubik's cube". I am so busy at the moment that I am not bothering to find out how to finish my cube, which is almost solved, but not completely.

Search for "rubik's cube" on Youtube. There are lots of videos to watch, some solving videos and some tutorials. There is even one where a computer solves a 100x100x100 cube.

Several minutes, using a book after the top layer. I had started to be able to do the lower corners too. Haven't hardly touched one since the 80's.

Used to be able to do it in 1:30-2:00, now I haven't practiced for about 6 months (because I couldn't find my cube) so probably 3 minutes
I use the first and only method I learned, Petrus (though Fridrich is faster, I can't find the time to learn it)
And no I cannot solve either the Professor's cube or Rubik's Revenge, unless it's just 1 turn away from being solved :)

In 1982, I was able to do the 3x3x3 in a bit under a minute using the layer method (which was pretty mediocre, but stable). A few years later, in college, I used in my personal "scientific study" what drinking does to you. AFAIR, I was faster under the influence (average of 10 tries). YMMV.

I got one for my kids a couple of years ago. Couldn't finish - it is [I]not[/I] like riding a bicycle, I guess. Two layers easy, some wrong turns in the 16-combi finish, and I don't have the foggiest how the cross is being put... I guess this also may be a sad illustration to what drinking [I]really[/I] does to you. :beer:

And now, I don't want to learn again from someone else (from the web etc.). Will try to practice until I'll "see" it (or something clicks and i remember - it's not a pure experiment). I have a 4x4x4, and will try to invent the square wheel there too. Learned it 15 or so years ago when it as a new fad ... got it down to a few minutes using what I think most of you call the layered method.

I releared it a couple years ago ... same method same time.

Sorry 3X3X3 only.

I have a 3x3 which I've solved in sub-minute times (right now I'm probably around 1:30) with the layer method

I also have a 4x4 with oriented pieces, it takes me about 5 minutes to get it solved with everything pointing the right way

I have a 5x5, but it's broken, so I haven't been practicing on it (I think I was getting it in about 15-20 minutes)

I also made this one (and I have another cube, but I can only attach 1 file at a time)

I haven't figured out how to solve this one yet
