Thanks for all the work, Syd,

The floating text appears on all my systems.

The new elf file download link does not produce a usable file on my linux boxes, due to the end of line difference. The wget call works, although I get a full elf file instead of the last line. This is not a problem. In fact, capturing the entire file allows aliqueit to verify it.

The submission is working better than before, since you've added an ECM run to the last composite. AliWin will no longer need to submit the minor factors.
If you factorize x!+1 with FF unchecked, you still get 3 FF entries (x = 4, 5, 7).
Got it, now its fixed.

Today I'm gonna move the database over from my home pc to the server, so I dont have to leave it on 24/7. This will cause some downtime, I think about 4 hours.

There are a few more bugs I'm currently working on:
- Reporting msieve or gmp-ecm output sometimes produces a lot of errors
- The parser has some problems with the %(modulo) operator and does not always get the order right
- Sometimes the title-tag of the scan-button does not show what work will be done
- When "&scan=5" is added right away without doing the previous levels before, the script may start msieve without doing a proper amount of ecm

After that I'll start implementing the merge-detecting algorithm and add the form for submitting primo-certificates.

you are moving the database right now?

Syd 2010-09-17 02:21

Yes. I have to copy the whole data over - seems it will take longer than expected.

Syd 2010-09-17 06:30

And back online. I hope everything is working!

The old/new database are now on the same server. To speed up the index file generation i took the old one offline. Its not deleted, everything still there!

I only discovered the database yesterday. What a treat! Thank you so much.

As an experiement, I've run a little helper that factors low hanging fruits from http://factordb.com/listtype.php?t=3 (in random order) with msieve and submits the factors. The current speed is about a couple of minutes per number.

So, don't be surprised if the length of "Smallest numbers without known factors" will increase soon. ;)

firejuggler 2010-09-20 08:28

good. but you realise that there is , at the momment 9,885,858 different value that have no know factor?
if you want to 'do' them all, your life won't be enough

The Database need more workers - maybe with a new Perl-Skript.
It looks like the worker for the Smallest unproven prime is not doing anything - since days it shows the same number.

firejuggler 2010-09-20 08:55

it seems that Syd have set to work on PRP with less than 1000 digits only

Do you pick the number by random also? Or the lowest (currently at 74 digits) first?

If so, the siqs(N) in yafu takes only 75 secs for a 74 digit number!
