Graphs don't work anymore, f.e. http://factordb.com/aliquot.php?type=1&aq=15390&big=1
. . .Markus, if you read this what about this idea:
If anybody is willing/able to support the DB, give him the permission to do so!
I would be willing, but I don't know enough about the db to know if I'd be able. . . and I'm an unknown. . . Perhaps if there were some trivial things in the line of "unsticking" numbers/sequences. . . |

at least that sort of thing would be useful |
It is a shame, a great project such as factor DB does not have sufficient support to carry on in its grand tradition.
Perhaps a suitable helper is available. |
:bump:
Has anyone heared of Syd in the last few weeks? He hasn't visited the mersenneforum since March 30th and not replied to my mail about the 57-bug in aliquot-sequence 10212... |
Has anyone heard anything about the db issues? I really miss the graphs.
My offer of assistance still stands, if there is a manner in which I can be of help. |

My offer of assistance still stands, if there is a manner in which I can be of help.
I have sent two mails to Syd (one in the mid of march, the second one last weekend) - no answer. He hasn't logged into the mersenneforum since the end of March. I hope he isn't ill or something? |
Some issues are being fixed every once in a while in FactorDB, e.g. aliquot charts where broken but now seem to work again.
Here's a short list of FF small numbers that are flagged as "C"omposite (next page also shows 1402, then 2354). I've PM'd Markus about them. We should start a new NJAS sequence of these... :max: |
Hello everyone,
sorry for not looking into here for so long, and for all the errors that occur in the database. I'm okay, just had no internet connection for some time. The database really contains a lot of errors, I just ran the check-script and it found 100's of broken sequences and a lot more structure errors, it could only correct a few of them automatically, leaving a big mess. Now as I have Internet connection & lots of time again, I decided to rewrite some/most parts of the scripts and finally make it thread-safe. I'll report back here when its ready for use, maybe with the worker-script again, I dont know yet. To start off from a clean state I'll reset all numbers to the state "U" for Unknown and check them all again, so dont worry if it behaves strange the next days. Just in case, made a backup on external disk. 9.5GB bzipped! Thanks to everyone reporting all those bugs, collecting broken sequences and offering help!! Syd (Markus) |
Nice to hear something again from you, Markus!
The most annoying errors are the low composites: they cause many of the errors in much sequences all over the DB. If these will be corrected as soon as possible, it would be a great help for all. And me to, so I can update again the summary-pages for Aliquot and others. Thanks. |
Good to see you're back Syd (Markus). Thanks for all your work.
